Quick Guide When Checking Your Condo Unit

Hope we can have a simple guide on the things to check when you look at your apartment. I will start first:
1) Look for incomplete cement between tiles or at corners especially in the bathrooms.
2) Look for small pieces of tiles at corners peeling or breaking off
3) Look for hollow tiles. Use a piece of wood, start walking like a duck and knock on each piece of time on the floor and the walls to see if they are hollow. Knock on 4 corners of the tiles and also the center of the tiles. Especially watch out for the tiles near the walls or at the boundary to another room. Due to the slight height difference between 2 areas (say, the living room and the master bedroom), the tiles may not get seated so well, so, they will be hollow underneath.

That's all I have at the moment. Please add more if you have. Thanks..

1) Check if all the keys are able to open all the doors. Try it 2 times each some keys for my place are having some problem on and off.

2) I was told that the sliding window in the kitchen area can only open 1 WAY, so, don't bother reporting that as a defect. They will tell you it's OK and drop it.

I stick some cellophane tape on the tiles and mark on them. In case, they don't want to change for me, I don't want to scrub the markers off them. :-)

The other day they fixed certain thing at your unit, and cleaning. But the tiles outside your maindoor still havent been fixed. Our 2x2 tiles already depleted.
So if u change your 2x2 tiles... it wont be same color anymore.

1. Check your main entrance door alignment, some main entrance door is not completely closed, you can still see a gap between the door and the door frame.
2. Check all your windows if they can open and close smoothly without any obstruction due to alignment of the window frames and hinges.
