Ya, both lifts are down when I first come to the lifts, around 7:39am. Then, me and my wife walk down using staircase.
Luckily I go check the lifts condition at 13A floor, found the lifts are UP. So lucky.

I believed your quotation is for s/steel grills...mine just powder coated. The contractor told me that the price different is approximately 200%. Still, they more expensive than outside contractor. Believed it or not, the management folks ask me to buy grill, sands, cement and bricks from them (with RM350 for garbage disposal). According to them, the contractor has agreement with developer which I know is bullshit. I guess all of them are some how benefiting with this arrangement and the "mangsa" is us...

New batch of ppl going to war with SSP all over again. Sigh.

To summarize first batch battle:-
1) SSP are not gangster
2) they are brought here under contract by our mgt office, the original deal was to provide sand/brick/cement
3) Many ppl just ignore them and use their own contractor, they tried to scare u or your contractor but that is all they got.
They even buy from outside sand/brick/cements. I dont see their unit get splash with red paint or watever.
4) Some got scared to even post here anymore, when SSP said want to counter sue RESIDENT. hahahahah
5) Do your homework on pricing and understand the detail so u have apple to apple comparison and use that to negotiate with SSP.
6) Some of us got even better deal with SSP than outsider
7) When mgt office tell u , u MUST buy or use SSP, make sure u RECORD it with your mobile phone, and ask them WHAT IF you refuse to do so( they will give u a puzzle answer, but get a straight answer) and search previous posting for our police report # and make police report (not sure if that still valid).
8) SSP is reading this forum.

Good luck.

E-7-5, your unit master bathroom water pipr burst. Water flow out to the air well. If you read this, contact the management or turn your main tap off.

Actaully, I went through all the renovation things but finally don't get the things (quality and design) I want. Actually, some item you can get from SSP, unless you know someone with good quality and price.

Joepow bro...how much in total did u spend for u hse reno?

Time for me to start budgeting n planning liao

SSP = appointed contractor for a newly completed housing project AKA public like to call them Gangster Contractor becos:
1. their charges are easily higher than others
2. u MUST buy this n that from them
3. u MUST pay rubbish fee
4. u MUST buy certain things from them AND...unfortunately the things that they are selling are VERY LIMITED to a few designs (yeah of cos la as they are not really a "real" contractor ma....they will oso sub out ur reno to their sub-cons)
5. like to threaten u if U dont pay or dont buy from them that...something not good "MIGHT" happen to ur hse la...ur family members la...ur....la...until u feel very uneasy unless u let them do ur reno
6. this list will just keep going on...1 thing i am quite surprise as a new hse owner in PG is...y the police in PG like oredi taken $ from them? we can't bring them to custody should they threaten us...

Hrmmm...lets see wat will happen to me? Obviously if they can deliver the reno and $ is competitive enough...i am more than happy to deal with them :P

BTW not sure if u guys are aware...BLR now is 5.8% liao from previous 5.55% starting 9 March 2010

Bryan wrote:I know the silver packet ants killer. I used it before. I think it is only effective on red ant as black one never be attracted with it. Anyway, need to try it out later.

I had problem with both the black ants and red fire-ants near end of January. I used Baygon Ant Bait (can get from Tesco) and after 2 days all ants disappeared. This is less messy than the silver packet as it comes with a green plastic container to place some bait in. Don't put all the bait inside. The ants go in and carry the bait to their nest. I placed the container in a hidden corner in my wet kitchen which I have converted to store-room.

BTW, I sealed up the door leading from the wet kitchen to dry-yard. Then I broke the wall between the dry yard and utility room. Next I hacked an opening from the utility room to the dining area and fixed a sliding door here. I also hacked a rectangular opening from the utility room to the dry kitchen. This opening was modified into a bar counter. I built a wall between the dry yard and corridor and a bird-cage from the dry yard to the vent area. Finally I converted the (dry-yard)+(utility room) into my kitchen with built-in cabinets with concrete base from floor to ceiling against two mutually perpendicular walls. The rest of the kitchen walls is covered with tiles. The cost for the whole kitchen was RM23K including all the fixtures like sinks, plumbing, counter top, tiles, water filter, taps, new door, etc. Renovation for whole house cost RM60K.

I didn't use SSP for anything nor did I or my contractor pay them a single cent.

First a few of us owners met together and signed a letter addressed to the developer and I made a police report on behalf of all those owners. I also met the SSP and told them not to disturb me or my contractors. When my contractor brought in the cement, sand and bricks the SSP told him that they were only allowing him to do it once. But when he ran short of bricks SSP didn't want to sell him the extra 90 bricks that he needed so he had to go out and buy them himself. Also they warned him not to renovate any unit other than mine.

I have moved in without any problem. The police told me that they are keeping an eye on the SSP and waiting for them to commit one crime after which they will be prosecuted. I suggest you monitor the movement of your contractor closely and record any wrongdoing by the SSP on camera if they give you any problem.
