Hi Guys

anyone have any idea what internet options we will have in IR? except the obvious monopolizer TMnet streamyx?

i hope there will be alternative

anyway, remember to apply phone line/streamyx as soon as possible, if not, later TM will tell you "no port" and make u wait for months.

I am currently online through my 3G handset. It is expensive not still ok for non-frequent user.

2 years later, I am sure there will be more better & cheaper package. Not to worry.

But anyway, no WiFi at IR is one of the weakness.

The MSC status also covered until USM only. Not sure our area included as MSC status or not. With MSC status, the internet speed will be faster, right?

got la, my current apartment, my neighbour last year wan to apply streamyx, TM also told them no port. waited for few months only got.

they always test market 1st eh, enough demand then they only increase the port.

anyway, u sure pgfon will come? if pgfon come, then good la! hope they can integrate their cat5 cable into the building wiring system, otherwise the pgfon will lay their cables in the corridors and into your house.

so at least we know we have another alternative besides TM.

mind to desc more details?
my company is thinking of using their service.

Hi Hokoma,

i have a friend who uses PenangFON since they launch, he told me that, the speed in the early days are great, but now it became bad and he going back to TM.

their back end bandwidth is starting to get congested when their customer base is growing large.

anyway, its always good to have a choice. hope the situation might improve by the day IR is ready.

Yes your friend is right, it was ok at first. I was using their corporate package $450 per month for my company.

The problem with penangfon is , they have peer issue with tmnet. Communicating with other tmnet users, u might have problem

Also the speed drops tremendously after 1am and until recently the line keep dropping and after numerous of call and shouting over the phone they couldnt fix it somemore blame my router(which I bought 1 new one for replacement/testing)

At the end i cancel it and subsribe 4mb combo.
